Terms of Use

Effective date: 28 September 2026 Last updated: 12 October 2026

Changes in this version. Sections 4.2, 4.4, 5.1, 5.4, 13.4, 13.5, 13.9 and 19.1 were updated on 6 October 2026 (earlier changes on 5 October 2026). The changes to Sections 13.4 and 13.5 and the permanent deletion described in Section 13.9(c) take effect on 20 October 2026. The other changes made on 6 October 2026, including Sections 4.2, 4.4 and 5.1 (parental consent now confirmed by the parent, and a date of birth that cannot be changed by you), apply from 6 October 2026. The 13.9(c) change adds a 30-day period before deletion, which only gives you more time. On 12 October 2026 we added the one-time Trial Pass (new Section 13.10, with matching changes to Sections 1, 12.1, 12.2, 13.6 and 13.7). It is a new, optional offering, so these changes apply from the day the Trial Pass is first offered and do not change any Subscription you already have.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and VidyaLoop ("VidyaLoop", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the website at https://vidyaloop.app (and https://vidyaloop.in), our web application, our mobile applications, and all related features, content and services (together, the "Service").

This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. It is published in accordance with Rule 3(1) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (as amended, the "IT Rules"). It is generated by a computer system and does not need a physical or digital signature.

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, clicking "Sign up", "Subscribe" or a similar button, uploading any document, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Summary of key points

This summary is for convenience only. The full Terms below govern.

  • VidyaLoop is an AI-powered study tool. You upload a document (PDF, DOCX or TXT), and we generate study material from it: notes, flashcards, a quick recap and a competency quiz.
  • You alone are responsible for every document you upload. You must own it or have the right to use it, and it must be lawful. VidyaLoop does not review, verify or endorse uploaded documents and is not responsible for them (Section 7).
  • AI-generated material can be wrong. Always check it against your textbook, teacher or other authoritative source (Section 9).
  • The Service must never be used in connection with terrorism, terror financing, or any threat to the sovereignty, integrity or security of India. We will remove such content, suspend the account and report it to the authorities (Section 11).
  • You can try one chapter first with the one-time ₹9 Trial Pass: one document of up to 5 pages, usable for 7 days. It does not renew and is not a Subscription (Section 13.10).
  • Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. If you cancel, access to paid features ends straight away; your decks are kept but locked until you subscribe again (Section 13).
  • Renew on time. If a renewal isn't paid by its renewal date you can't upload new files. If it still isn't paid 7 days after the renewal date, your account is suspended, and if it is still unpaid 30 days after suspension your uploaded files, decks and study data are permanently deleted (Section 13.9).
  • Users under 18 may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or lawful guardian, who must confirm their consent through a link we email them (Section 4).
  • Indian law governs these Terms (Section 22).

2. Definitions

  • "Account" means the account you create to access the Service.
  • "User Content" means any document, file, text, image or other material you upload, submit, paste or otherwise provide to the Service, including all text we extract from it.
  • "Generated Content" means the notes, flashcards, recaps, quizzes, decks and other outputs that the Service produces from your User Content using artificial intelligence.
  • "Subscription" means a paid plan purchased under Section 13.
  • "Applicable Law" means all laws, rules, regulations, orders, directions and guidelines in force in India, and any other law that applies to you or to your use of the Service.
  • "Parent" means a parent or lawful guardian of a user who is a child.
  • "Child" means an individual under the age of 18 years.

3. The Service

3.1 What we provide. The Service lets you upload course material (such as lecture notes, worksheets, past papers, syllabuses and textbook chapters) and automatically generates study material from it. It also includes a spaced-repetition review engine that schedules flashcards for review.

3.2 Educational aid only. The Service is a study aid. It does not replace teachers, schools, coaching, textbooks or official curricula. VidyaLoop is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any school, university, examination body or education board (including CBSE, CISCE, state boards, NTA, UGC or any university), unless we expressly say so in writing.

3.3 No guarantee of results. Any statements about learning outcomes, retention or time saved describe typical or expected benefits. They are not promises. We do not guarantee any grade, rank, examination result, admission or other outcome.

3.4 Changes to the Service. We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any feature, file format, AI model, processing limit or part of the Service at any time. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will give you reasonable notice and, where required by Applicable Law, a pro-rata refund or other remedy.

3.5 Third-party technology. The Service uses third-party infrastructure and AI model providers to process documents and generate content. The Privacy Policy lists them. Those providers are not parties to these Terms.

4. Eligibility, children and parental consent

4.1 Age. You may use the Service on your own only if you are 18 years of age or older and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

4.2 Children. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only if your Parent: (a) has read and agreed to these Terms and the Privacy Policy on your behalf; (b) consents to the processing of your personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") and the rules made under it. When you register we ask for your date of birth and, if you are under 18, your Parent's name, mobile number and email address. We do not assume that your Parent has consented. We email your Parent a one-time link, valid for 7 days, and your Parent gives or refuses consent by using it. Until your Parent has confirmed: you cannot take out a Subscription; and, once 14 days have passed since we first asked your Parent, you cannot upload new files or generate new study material (you can keep studying what is already in your Account). If your Parent refuses, you cannot subscribe, upload or generate, and we may suspend the Account and, on request, delete the Child's data. Your Parent can withdraw consent at any time by writing to hello@vidyaloop.app, and we will suspend the Account and, on request, delete the Child's data; and (c) agrees to supervise your use of the Service.

4.3 Parent responsibility. A Parent who allows a Child to use the Service is responsible for the Child's use of it, including the documents the Child uploads and any payments made. References to "you" in these Terms include the Parent where the user is a Child.

4.4 Verification. We treat the person who confirms through the link we send to the email address given for your Parent as your Parent. We may ask for reasonable further information to verify age or parental consent. We may suspend or delete any Account where we reasonably believe that a Child is using the Service without valid parental consent.

4.5 Restrictions. You may not use the Service if you have been previously suspended or banned from it, or if you are barred from receiving services under Applicable Law, including any sanctions law (see Section 11.6).

5. Your Account

5.1 Registration. You must provide accurate, current and complete information when you register (such as your name, email address and date of birth) and keep it up to date. We use your date of birth to work out whether Section 4 applies to you. Giving a false date of birth is a breach of these Terms. Once your date of birth is recorded you cannot change it yourself, because it decides whether Section 4 applies to you; if it is wrong, write to hello@vidyaloop.app and we may ask for reasonable evidence before correcting it.

5.2 Security. You are responsible for keeping your password and login credentials confidential and for all activity under your Account. Use a strong, unique password. Tell us immediately at hello@vidyaloop.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your Account.

5.3 One person per Account. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, sold, transferred or used by more than one person. You may not create an Account using false information or on behalf of someone else without authority.

5.4 Communications. You agree that we may send you service messages electronically (for example, payment confirmations and failures, renewal reminders and overdue notices, security alerts, and changes to these Terms). Where you are a Child, we may send these to your Parent as well. We may also send optional messages such as study reminders and a birthday greeting. You can turn these optional messages off by switching off the email digest in your profile settings.

6. Acceptable use

6.1 You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial educational purposes, and in accordance with these Terms and Applicable Law.

6.2 Prohibited content. In accordance with Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules, you must not upload, host, display, generate, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share any information that: (a) belongs to another person and to which you do not have any right; (b) is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating to or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or promoting enmity between groups on the grounds of religion or caste with the intent to incite violence; (c) is harmful to children; (d) infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right; (e) deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message, or knowingly and intentionally communicates misinformation or information that is patently false and untrue or misleading in nature; (f) impersonates another person; (g) threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order; causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence; prevents investigation of any offence; or is insulting to any foreign State; (h) contains software viruses or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource; (i) is patently false and untrue, and is written or published in any form with the intent to mislead or harass a person, entity or agency for financial gain or to cause any injury to any person; or (j) violates any law for the time being in force.

6.3 Prohibited conduct. You must not, and must not help anyone else to: (a) use the Service in any way that breaches Section 11 (Anti-terrorism and national security); (b) upload leaked, stolen or unreleased examination or question papers, answer keys, or any confidential, classified or restricted material, or use the Service to commit or facilitate cheating, impersonation or any unfair means in an examination, including any offence under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024; (c) upload personal data of other people (for example, classmates' marks, contact details, medical or identity information) unless you are lawfully entitled to do so; (d) upload child sexual abuse material. We report such material to the authorities as required by law, including under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012; (e) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or try to derive the source code, models, prompts or algorithms of the Service, except to the extent Applicable Law expressly permits; (f) scrape, crawl or harvest data from the Service, or access it using bots, scripts or automated means other than those we provide; (g) try to bypass, disable or interfere with security features, usage limits, the Fair Usage Policy, payment controls or access restrictions; (h) probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service or breach any security or authentication measure. If you find a vulnerability, report it responsibly to hello@vidyaloop.app; (i) upload files designed to manipulate the AI (for example, prompt-injection instructions intended to make the Service produce prohibited content, disclose system information or act against these Terms); (j) use the Service or Generated Content to build, train or improve a competing product or AI model; (k) resell, sublicense, rent, lease or commercially exploit the Service, or share paid access with others; (l) overload our systems or interfere with other users' use of the Service; or (m) use the Service for any purpose that is fraudulent or unlawful, or that could expose VidyaLoop or its users to harm or legal liability.

6.4 Our response. If you breach this Section 6, we may, without prior notice and without liability, remove or disable access to the relevant content, restrict features, suspend or terminate your Account, and report the matter to the appropriate authorities. We may also preserve relevant information as required by Applicable Law.

7. Uploaded documents: your responsibility

This Section is important. Please read it carefully.

7.1 You are solely responsible. Every document and all other User Content is uploaded at your own choice and on your own initiative. You alone are fully and solely responsible for the User Content you upload, including its legality, accuracy, quality, ownership, and the rights and permissions needed to upload and process it. VidyaLoop does not select, initiate, modify or endorse any User Content.

7.2 Your warranties. Each time you upload User Content, you represent and warrant that: (a) you own the User Content, or you have all licences, rights, consents and permissions needed to upload it and to let VidyaLoop process it as described in these Terms; (b) your upload and our processing of the User Content will not infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, confidentiality obligation, privacy right or other right of any person; (c) where the User Content contains personal data of any other person, you have a lawful basis and any consent required under Applicable Law (including the DPDP Act) to share it with us for processing; (d) the User Content does not contain anything prohibited by Sections 6 or 11; and (e) the User Content does not contain viruses, malware or other harmful code.

7.3 Copyrighted study material. Many textbooks, reference books, coaching material and publisher content are protected by copyright. You may upload such material only where your use is permitted by the copyright owner or by law, for example as fair dealing for private or personal use, including research, under Section 52 of the Copyright Act, 1957. Whether a particular use is lawful is your responsibility. If you are unsure, do not upload the material.

7.4 No obligation to monitor. VidyaLoop acts as an intermediary for the User Content you store on the Service and has no obligation to pre-screen, monitor, review or verify User Content. We do not warrant that any User Content is lawful, accurate or appropriate. The fact that the Service has processed a document does not mean that we have approved it or that it is lawful.

7.5 Our rights. Even though we have no obligation to do so, we may (using automated tools, human review or both) scan, review, block, remove or refuse to process any User Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or Applicable Law. We will also act on court orders, notices from an appropriate government agency, and valid complaints, within the timelines required by the IT Rules and other Applicable Law.

7.6 No liability for User Content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, and consistent with the protection given to intermediaries under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, VidyaLoop is not responsible or liable for any User Content, for any claim that arises from User Content, or for any Generated Content produced from User Content that you did not have the right to upload. Any such liability rests with the user who uploaded the User Content.

7.7 Indemnity for User Content. You agree to indemnify and hold VidyaLoop harmless in respect of User Content, as set out in Section 17.

7.8 Backups. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of your original documents. The Service is not a document storage or backup service, and we may delete original files after processing in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7.9 Sharing a preview. A subscriber can create a link that lets anyone who has it, without logging in, see a short preview of a deck: its quick recap and its first few flashcards. The link works for 30 days unless you stop sharing sooner, and the number of active links depends on your plan. Do not share a link to a deck made from material you are not allowed to share (Section 7.3), and do not put personal data of other people in a deck you share. Anything shown through a link is a copy of Generated Content, so Section 9 applies to it. You are responsible for who you send a link to. We may disable any link, and anyone can report a shared page to us using the "Report this page" link on it or through Section 10. Sharing the preview does not give anyone else the right to use the Service.

8. Licences and intellectual property

8.1 Your content remains yours. As between you and VidyaLoop, you keep all rights you have in your User Content. You also own the Generated Content produced for you, to the extent Applicable Law allows rights in it, subject to any rights of third parties in the underlying User Content.

8.2 Licence you give us. You grant VidyaLoop a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable (only to a successor under Section 24.3) and sub-licensable (only to our service providers acting for us) licence to host, store, copy, extract text from, process, transmit, adapt and display your User Content and Generated Content. We may use this licence only to: (a) provide, maintain, secure and support the Service for you; (b) comply with Applicable Law and lawful requests from authorities; and (c) enforce these Terms. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except where we must keep content longer to meet a legal obligation.

8.3 No training on your documents. We do not use your User Content or Generated Content to train our own or third-party artificial intelligence models. We use AI providers under terms that do not allow them to train their models on the content we send them. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage statistics (for example, how long generation takes, or how many cards are reviewed) to operate and improve the Service.

8.4 Our intellectual property. The Service, including its software, design, look and feel, text, graphics, logos, the "VidyaLoop" name and marks, prompts, templates and underlying technology, is owned by VidyaLoop or its licensors and is protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, we do not grant you any right in it.

8.5 Your limited licence. Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial educational use.

8.6 Feedback. If you give us suggestions or feedback, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.

9. AI-generated content: disclaimers

9.1 May be inaccurate. Generated Content is produced automatically by artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, oversimplified or misleading. It may contain errors of fact, calculation or interpretation, or content that is not present in your document. Quality depends heavily on the quality of the document you upload.

9.2 Verify before relying. You must independently check Generated Content against your source material, textbooks, teachers or other authoritative sources before relying on it for any examination, assignment or decision. You are responsible for how you use Generated Content.

9.3 Not professional advice. Generated Content is not medical, legal, financial, psychological, engineering or other professional advice, even if your document covers such topics.

9.4 Academic integrity. You are responsible for following the academic integrity rules of your school, university or examination body. Do not submit Generated Content as your own original work where that is not allowed.

9.5 Labelling. Generated Content is created by AI. If you share it outside the Service, you must not present it as authored or verified by a teacher, examiner, education board or other authority.

9.6 Similar outputs. Because of how AI works, the Service may produce similar or identical outputs for different users. You do not acquire exclusive rights in outputs that are generic.

10. Copyright and content complaints

10.1 If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, or is otherwise unlawful, send a written notice to our Grievance Officer (Section 20). The notice should include: (a) your name and contact details; (b) a description of the work or right claimed to be infringed, and evidence of your ownership or authority; (c) enough information to identify the content concerned (for example, the Account email address, if known, or a description); (d) a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights owner or by law; and (e) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate.

10.2 We will act on valid notices in accordance with the Copyright Act, 1957, the Copyright Rules, 2013, the IT Rules and other Applicable Law. This may include disabling access to the content and, for repeat infringers, terminating Accounts.

11. Anti-terrorism and national security

11.1 Zero tolerance. VidyaLoop has zero tolerance for terrorism, violent extremism and any activity that threatens the sovereignty, unity, integrity, defence or security of India. You must not use the Service, directly or indirectly, in any way that is connected with terrorism or unlawful activity.

11.2 Laws that apply. Without limiting any other provision of these Terms, you must comply with, and must not use the Service to commit, attempt, abet, conspire in or facilitate any offence under: (a) the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 ("UAPA"), including provisions on terrorist acts, raising or providing funds for terrorism, membership of or support to terrorist organisations or gangs, recruitment for terrorism, and holding proceeds of terrorism; (b) the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including Section 113 (terrorist act), Section 111 (organised crime), Section 152 (acts endangering the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India) and Section 197 (imputations and assertions prejudicial to national integration); (c) the Information Technology Act, 2000, including Section 66F (cyber terrorism), and any directions issued under Sections 69 and 69A; (d) the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 and the offences scheduled under it; (e) the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005; (f) the Explosive Substances Act, 1908, the Explosives Act, 1884 and the Arms Act, 1959; (g) the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, 2002, in so far as it relates to the proceeds of terrorism or other scheduled offences; and (h) any other anti-terrorism, counter-terror-financing, sanctions or national security law in force in India, or in any other country that applies to you.

11.3 Prohibited terrorism-related use. In particular, you must not upload, process, generate, store or share any content, and must not use the Service for any purpose, that: (a) promotes, glorifies, praises, justifies, supports or incites terrorism, a terrorist act, violent extremism or violence against the State, any community or any person; (b) supports, represents, recruits for, raises funds for or otherwise helps any organisation or individual listed or declared as a terrorist organisation, terrorist individual or unlawful association under UAPA, or designated under any United Nations Security Council sanctions list, including the ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida sanctions list; (c) provides, requests or develops instructions, training material, manuals or technical information for making or using weapons, explosives, improvised explosive devices, or chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons, or for attacking critical infrastructure, public places or people; (d) is propaganda, recruitment or training material of any terrorist organisation, or is intended to radicalise any person; (e) plans, coordinates or facilitates any terrorist act, attack, or act endangering the security of India or any other country; (f) relates to cyber terrorism, including unauthorised access to, or disruption of, any protected system or critical information infrastructure; (g) threatens the sovereignty, unity, integrity, defence or security of India, or public order; or (h) seeks to disguise, launder or move funds for any of the above.

11.4 Legitimate academic study. This Section does not stop genuine students from studying history, political science, law, security studies, current affairs or similar subjects that discuss terrorism or conflict in an objective, educational and non-promotional way, such as a chapter on national security in a civics textbook. However, content that crosses into promotion, instruction, support or incitement is prohibited, whatever its stated purpose. We decide at our reasonable discretion whether content crosses this line.

11.5 Our actions. If we become aware of, or reasonably suspect, any breach of this Section 11, we may immediately and without notice: (a) remove or disable access to the relevant content and Generated Content; (b) suspend or permanently terminate your Account without a refund; (c) preserve all relevant information, including User Content, Generated Content, Account details, payment records and logs, for as long as Applicable Law requires, or longer where needed for an investigation; (d) report the matter to, and cooperate fully with, law enforcement and government agencies, including the National Investigation Agency, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, and the police; and (e) provide information as required under Applicable Law, including under Section 69 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, Rule 3(1)(j) of the IT Rules, and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. We are not liable to you for any action we take in good faith under this Section.

11.6 Sanctions. By using the Service, you represent that you are not, and are not owned, controlled by or acting on behalf of, any person or entity listed or designated under UAPA, any United Nations Security Council sanctions list, or any other sanctions list applicable to India. You also represent that you will not make any payment to us out of funds that are the proceeds of crime or are connected with terrorism.

11.7 Reporting. If you come across content or activity on the Service that you believe is connected with terrorism, please report it immediately to our Grievance Officer (Section 20) and to the authorities, for example through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in or helpline 1930.

12. Fees, plans and Fair Usage Policy

12.1 Plans. The Service is offered on the plans described on our Pricing page (https://vidyaloop.app/pricing). At the date of these Terms, these are:

PlanPriceDocuments
Basic₹49 per monthUp to 6 documents per month
Standard₹149 per monthUp to 25 documents per month
Premium₹1,499 per monthUp to 45 documents per month, with advanced AI reasoning
Premium Yearly₹14,999 per yearUnlimited documents, subject to the Fair Usage Policy
Trial Pass₹9, one timeOne document of up to 5 pages, for 7 days (Section 13.10). Not a Subscription and does not renew

The Pricing page shown at the time of purchase applies. Prices are in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other applicable taxes, which will be shown at checkout.

12.2 Document limits. A "document" means a single file uploaded for generation. Monthly limits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused documents do not carry over. We may set reasonable limits on file size, page count or word count, and will show these in the Service. The Trial Pass has its own limits, set out in Section 13.10.

12.3 Fair Usage Policy. "Unlimited" plans are for normal individual study use. On the Premium Yearly plan, after 40 heavy documents in a calendar month, processing may continue at standard speed rather than high speed for the rest of that month. A "heavy document" is a document over 40 pages or 15,000 words. We may also take reasonable steps (such as rate limits or temporary slowdowns) where use is automated, shared, commercial, or so excessive that it harms the Service for others. We will tell you if we take such steps and, where possible, give you a chance to change your usage first.

12.4 Price changes. We may change prices. Changes will not affect a billing period you have already paid for. We will notify you of any price increase at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you may cancel before then.

13. Subscriptions, auto-renewal, cancellation and refunds

13.1 Payment processing. Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay Software Private Limited ("Razorpay"), or, for purchases made inside an iOS app, by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your full card number, UPI PIN, CVV or net-banking credentials. Your use of the payment partner's services is subject to its own terms and privacy policy.

13.2 Auto-renewal. Unless you cancel, your Subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) for the same period, at the then-current price. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment partner to charge your chosen payment method on each renewal date, using a recurring mandate set up in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India's framework for e-mandates on recurring transactions. Your bank or card issuer may send you a pre-debit notification before each charge, and may require additional authentication for certain amounts.

13.3 Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge, ask you to update your payment method, and suspend the generation of new content until payment succeeds. Section 13.9 explains what happens if the renewal is not paid.

13.4 Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your profile's billing settings (Subscription), or by writing to hello@vidyaloop.app. Cancellation stops future renewals and ends your access to the paid features immediately. Fees already paid for the current billing period are not refunded, except as set out in Section 13.6. Subscriptions bought through Apple must be cancelled through your Apple ID settings.

13.5 Your decks after you cancel. If you cancel, we keep your decks, files and Generated Content while your Account remains open, but you cannot open them or generate new content until you take out a Subscription again. You can delete your decks or your whole Account at any time. Section 13.9 applies instead where a Subscription ends because a renewal was not paid.

13.6 Refunds. (This Section covers Subscriptions; Section 13.10(f) covers the Trial Pass.) Subscription fees are payments for access to a digital service and, once a billing period has started, are non-refundable, including for unused documents or partial periods, except: (a) where you were charged in error, or charged twice for the same period, in which case we will refund the extra amount; (b) where you cancel within 7 days of your first paid Subscription and have not generated more than one document, in which case you may request a full refund; or (c) where Applicable Law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, requires a refund. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of approval. The time your bank takes to credit the amount may vary. Refunds for Apple purchases are handled by Apple under its policies.

13.7 Free trials and promotions. If we offer a free trial or promotional price, its conditions will be shown when you sign up. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your Subscription will start and be charged at the regular price. The Trial Pass in Section 13.10 is different: it is a paid, one-time pass, never turns into a Subscription by itself, and is never charged again.

13.8 Taxes and invoices. Tax invoices are issued in accordance with GST law. If you need your GSTIN on the invoice, enter it at checkout.

13.9 Renewal dates, overdue plans, suspension and deletion. This Section applies to every recurring plan, whether monthly or yearly. (a) Where to see it. Your start date, your next renewal date and your purchase history are shown in your profile under Subscription. (b) Overdue plan. If a renewal has not been paid by the renewal date, your plan is overdue. While it is overdue you can still sign in and study your existing decks, but you cannot upload new files. We will email you (and, if you are a Child and your Parent has confirmed their email address, your Parent) on the day the renewal is missed and again about 3 and 6 days later. (c) Suspension and deletion. If the plan has still not been renewed 7 days after the renewal date, we will suspend your Account (you will not be able to sign in) and cancel the recurring payment mandate. If it is still not renewed 30 days after the suspension (permanent deletion applies from 20 October 2026), we will permanently delete your uploaded files, decks, Generated Content, study activity and profile. Until then your data is kept, and if you write to hello@vidyaloop.app and take out a new plan we can restore your Account with your data. Once deleted, it cannot be undone and we cannot restore deleted content. We keep billing and payment records for as long as the law requires (Privacy Policy, Section 5). (d) How to renew. While signed in, choose a plan on the Pricing page. Renewing before the 7 days end restores full access and keeps your data. After suspension, write to hello@vidyaloop.app within the 30 days and we will help you take out a new plan. (e) Payment timing. A renewal paid on or just after the renewal date, while your bank or Razorpay is still processing it, does not make your plan overdue. We allow a short processing margin, and we check with our payment partner before taking any action.

13.10 Trial Pass. The Trial Pass lets you try the Service on one chapter before choosing a plan. (a) What it is. You pay ₹9 once (inclusive of GST). In return you may upload one document of up to 5 pages and have study material generated from it (notes, flashcards, a quick recap, a competency quiz and a mind map), and you may use that material for 7 days from the time of payment. A PDF is counted by its pages. A DOCX or TXT file has no fixed pages, so we estimate its length from the amount of text (about 3,500 characters to a page). Section 12.3 does not apply to the Trial Pass. (b) One pass per person. Each Account, and each email address, can buy one Trial Pass. We may refuse a further pass, and we may refuse or end a pass that is obtained by creating several Accounts or email addresses. (c) No renewal. The Trial Pass is not a Subscription. There is no recurring payment mandate and no automatic charge. Nothing renews when it ends. (d) A document that is too long. If the document you upload is longer than 5 pages, we do not generate study material from it and the upload is given back, so you can try a shorter chapter within your 7 days. The 7 days are not extended. (e) When it ends. After 7 days you can still sign in, but you cannot open your study material or upload documents until you take out a Subscription. We keep the chapter and the material generated from it while your Account stays open, and restore access when you take out a Subscription. You can delete them, or your Account, at any time. If we decide to delete expired Trial Pass content, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. (f) Refunds. The Trial Pass is a payment for access to a digital service and is non-refundable once paid, except where you were charged in error or twice, where you paid but we did not give you the pass because of a fault on our side (in which case we will give you the pass or refund you, as you prefer), or where Applicable Law requires a refund. Section 13.6 explains how approved refunds are paid. (g) Children. If you are under 18, Sections 4.2 and 4.3 apply to the Trial Pass in the same way as to a Subscription: your Parent must have confirmed their consent before you can buy it, and your Parent is responsible for the payment. We email your Parent a notice of the purchase once they have confirmed their email address. (h) Other terms. Everything else in these Terms applies to your use of the Trial Pass, including Sections 6 to 9 on acceptable use and your documents.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless VidyaLoop, its affiliates, and their directors, officers, employees, agents and service providers from and against any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, losses, damages, liabilities, penalties, fines, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your User Content, including any claim that it infringes the rights of a third party or breaches Applicable Law; (b) your use or misuse of the Service or Generated Content; (c) your breach of these Terms, including Sections 6, 7 and 11; or (d) your violation of any Applicable Law or of the rights of any third party. 18.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Applicable Law.

19. Suspension and termination

19.1 By you. You can stop using the Service at any time, and can delete your Account from your profile settings (by typing the confirmation text shown there, and signing in again if asked) or by writing to us. Deleting your Account cancels any recurring payment mandate and permanently deletes your uploaded files, decks, Generated Content, study activity and profile; this cannot be undone. We keep only what we are required to keep (Privacy Policy, Section 5).

19.2 By us. We may suspend or terminate your Account, or your access to all or part of the Service, with or without notice, if: (a) you breach these Terms, including Sections 6, 7 or 11; (b) we are required to do so by law, a court order or a direction from an authority; (c) your use creates risk or possible legal exposure for us or other users; (d) you do not pay fees when due, including where a renewal is not paid within the period in Section 13.9; or (e) we discontinue the Service. In that case, we will give you reasonable notice and a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees for the unused period.

19.3 Effect. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. We will handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to any legal obligation to preserve it. Where your Account is terminated for breach of Section 11 or for any serious breach of Applicable Law, no refund will be made.

19.4 Survival. Sections 7, 8.2 (to the extent needed), 8.4, 9, 11.5, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22 and any other provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply after termination.
